Overview 1 East is a 18 bed unit in which the Registered Nurse (RN) provides care for a wide variety of patients including heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and stable post interventional cardiology procedure patients. RN- Ambulatory Services, Pre-op and PACU

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients with health care needs ranging from those requiring outpatient and inpatient intervention to the critically ill. PACU The PACU nurse is responsible for assessing the patient, should have a thorough knowledge of pain medication and be able to make judgments and assessments when it comes to pain, vomiting or trouble breathing. PACU nurses work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, making quick decisions. RN- Intensive Care Unit

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) will assume responsibility and accountability for the adult and geriatric patients undergoing continuous monitoring for cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and/or psychiatric diagnoses. The CCU RN will often be active participants in bedside procedures with physicians. He/She will be responsible for certain specialty equipment and procedures such as managing arterial lines, ventilators, hypothermia protocol, and performing peritoneal dialysis. RN- Emergency Department

Overview The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) will work with a team of physicians, other nurses, patient care techs, and other professionals from various departments of the hospital such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy. CRHS ED is a certified Level III Trauma Center, AR SAVES spoke site and receiving site, and a designated Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital (ArSRH). The ED RN is part of a team that provides care for traumatically injured patients, and critically ill patients suffering from life threatening conditions such as Heart Attack or Stroke. The ED RN works alongside the team with the common goal of providing compassionate, quality care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics within a fast paced environment. The ED RN will assess and monitor a wide array of health conditions and injuries, administer medications, and perform procedures such as moderate sedation, intraosseous and intravascular therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The ED RN must have a mind that is always assessing and triaging patient complaints and conditions with efficiency and accuracy. The ED RN must be skilled in maintaining proper lines of communication with the health care team, patients, and families. RN- Labor, Delivery and Recovery Postpartum

Overview The obstetric unit in Women’s & Infants’ Services is comprised of 16 LDRP (labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum) rooms and an additional 8 post-partum or general care rooms. We provide Level II Maternal Specialty care and deliver approximately 1,750 babies each year under the care of our OB/GYN physician teams from three local clinics. Our Women’s & Infants’ team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women’s Center Outreach team. The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum obstetrical patients and their well newborn infants. The L&D RN also performs screening and outpatient care for OB Triage patients along with care to women during their post-partum recovery following vaginal or cesarean delivery. The L&D RN is cross-trained to Mother/Baby care. Overview The Nursery Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of neonates ranging from well newborn infants to those with special or intensive care nursery needs. Our Nursery is an 8 bed Level II special care nursery unit which provides care to newborns delivered in our Labor & Delivery unit who are under the care of our Pediatric physician teams from four local clinics. Common diagnosis and care provided to newborns in our Nursery include respiratory distress and oxygen support, jaundice and phototherapy, antibiotic therapy, hypoglycemia management and care of premature infants 32 weeks and older. Our Women’s & Infants’ team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women’s Center Outreach team. Our Nursery is a proud member of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Nursery Alliance aimed at working together for exceptional newborn care close to home. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. RN- Ambulatory Services, Pre-op and PACU

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients with health care needs ranging from those requiring outpatient and inpatient intervention to the critically ill. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts. Pre-Op The Pre-Op RN will aid in preparing the patient for their surgical procedure. The Pre-Op RN is responsible for starting and monitoring IVs, administering pre-operative medications, and performing pre-operative procedures with the assistance of anesthesia. They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support system. PACU The PACU nurse is responsible for assessing the patient, should have a thorough knowledge of pain medication and be able to make judgments and assessments when it comes to pain, vomiting or trouble breathing. PACU nurses work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, making quick decisions. RN- Intensive Care Unit

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) will assume responsibility and accountability for the adult and geriatric patients undergoing continuous monitoring for cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and/or psychiatric diagnoses. The CCU RN will often be active participants in bedside procedures with physicians. He/She will be responsible for certain specialty equipment and procedures such as managing arterial lines, ventilators, hypothermia protocol, and performing peritoneal dialysis. As a CCU RN, he/she will be part of the Rapid Response Team and will assist hospital staff in assessing, treating and transferring (if needed) deteriorating patients to the appropriate unit. He/She will provide appropriate care and comfort needs for the well-being of the patients by assessing, administering medications as ordered and educating patients and family members about active treatment plans and goals. Overview The obstetric unit in Women’s & Infants’ Services is comprised of 16 LDRP (labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum) rooms and an additional 8 post-partum or general care rooms. We provide Level II Maternal Specialty care and deliver approximately 1,750 babies each year under the care of our OB/GYN physician teams from three local clinics. Our Women’s & Infants’ team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women’s Center Outreach team. The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum obstetrical patients and their well newborn infants. The L&D RN also performs screening and outpatient care for OB Triage patients along with care to women during their post-partum recovery following vaginal or cesarean delivery. The L&D RN is cross-trained to Mother/Baby care. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.
