Overview The obstetric unit in Women’s & Infants’ Services is comprised of 16 LDRP (labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum) rooms and an additional 8 post-partum or general care rooms. We provide Level II Maternal Specialty care and deliver approximately 1,750 babies each year under the care of our OB/GYN physician teams from three local clinics. Our Women’s & Infants’ team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women’s Center Outreach team. Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of infants, children, adults, geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. Care needs may range from those requiring outpatient procedures to the critically ill.The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansasand the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. Responsibilities Clinical Patient Care Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR). Obtain medical histories, medication reconciliation, allergies, and vital signs. Triage patient phone calls, patient portal messages, prescription refill requests, and urgent patient concerns. Assess patients for emergent symptoms and collaborate with providers regarding appropriate treatment plans. Administer medications, injections, wound treatments, and other nursing interventions as ordered. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and postoperative care. Review laboratory and diagnostic imaging results with providers and communicate recommendations to patients. Surgical Coordination Coordinate elective and urgent surgical procedures from initial scheduling through postoperative follow-up. Schedule surgeries with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and procedural facilities. Ensure completion of all pre-operative requirements including: History & Physical Laboratory testing Imaging Cardiac or medical clearance Medication instructions Patient education Coordinate postoperative appointments and ongoing surgical follow-up. Prior Authorizations & Insurance Coordination Obtain insurance prior authorizations for surgeries, procedures, imaging studies, medications, and specialty services. Work with insurance companies to resolve authorization denials or requests for additional clinical information. Collaborate with financial counselors, surgery schedulers, and providers to ensure timely approval of services. Coordination with Outside Facilities Coordinate patient care with affiliated hospitals, surgery centers, and referring providers. Communicate regularly with the clinic's Little Rock office and other affiliated locations to ensure continuity of care. Coordinate referrals, consultations, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care between locations. Obtain and review outside medical records, imaging, operative reports, and pathology reports as needed. Vascular Patient Care Assist in the management of patients with arterial disease, venous disease, aneurysms, dialysis access, and wound care. Coordinate vascular testing and imaging. Review vascular procedure instructions with patients. Educate patients regarding compression therapy, wound management, and vascular disease prevention. Care Coordination Coordinate referrals to specialists and ancillary services. Facilitate communication between primary care providers, specialists, hospitals, and ancillary departments. Assist with discharge planning and transitions of care. Monitor outstanding diagnostic testing and ensure timely follow-up. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the EMR. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention standards, Joint Commission requirements, and clinic policies. Assist with quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities. Participate in chart audits and clinical quality projects. Clinic Operations Assist with daily clinic workflow to maintain efficient patient throughput. Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and medication inventory. Ensure examination and procedure rooms remain clean, stocked, and compliant with infection prevention standards. Participate in staff meetings, educational programs, and mandatory training. Cross-train to support clinic operations as needed. Overview 4 South is an 18-bed unit that specializes in orthopedics and neurosurgery. The Registered Nurse (RN) cares for a diverse population that includes primary and revision joint replacement as well as neurosurgery patients recovering primarily from procedures such as cervical and lumbar fusions and revisions. Many of our patients participate in Joint Academy before they undergo surgery followed by participation in the Recovery Coach program following surgery. This surgical unit is fast-paced related to turn over as patients typically have a short length of stay. RN- Emergency Department

Overview The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) will work with a team of physicians, other nurses, patient care techs, and other professionals from various departments of the hospital such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy. CRHS ED is a certified Level III Trauma Center, AR SAVES spoke site and receiving site, and a designated Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital (ArSRH). The ED RN is part of a team that provides care for traumatically injured patients, and critically ill patients suffering from life threatening conditions such as Heart Attack or Stroke. The ED RN works alongside the team with the common goal of providing compassionate, quality care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics within a fast paced environment. The ED RN will assess and monitor a wide array of health conditions and injuries, administer medications, and perform procedures such as moderate sedation, intraosseous and intravascular therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The ED RN must have a mind that is always assessing and triaging patient complaints and conditions with efficiency and accuracy. CRHS ED is a certified Level III Trauma Center, AR SAVES spoke site and receiving site, and a designated Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital (ArSRH). The RN also cares for the Ear, Nose and Throat surgical patients along with peritoneal dialysis patients and patients with other medical problems covering a wide range of diagnoses. RN- Short Stay Outpatient Unit

Overview The Short Stay Outpatient Unit (SSOU) is a fast paced environment where multidisciplinary services are provided for patients needing a vast variety of treatments. This unit’s normal hours of operation are Monday – Friday day shift, but coverage is also provided on weekend day shifts on an as needed basis. Treatments are provided to patients with a variety of needs and who are sent by physicians from numerous disciplines including but not limited to Primary Care, Hematology, Oncology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Obstetrics. The SSOU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide treatments to include but not limited to the administration of chemotherapies and biotherapies, blood products, ESAs, IV antibiotics, iron, and hydration. The SSOU RN routinely performs therapeutic phlebotomies, CVL care, and wound dressing changes. SSOU RNs are highly autonomous and work in a team nursing environment. All RNs are expected to become chemotherapy certified within a year of employment and to consider national certification if not already certified. Overview 4 South is an 18-bed unit that specializes in orthopedics and neurosurgery. The Registered Nurse (RN) cares for a diverse population that includes primary and revision joint replacement as well as neurosurgery patients recovering primarily from procedures such as cervical and lumbar fusions and revisions. Many of our patients participate in Joint Academy before they undergo surgery followed by participation in the Recovery Coach program following surgery. This surgical unit is fast-paced related to turn over as patients typically have a short length of stay.
