Overview The ED Boarder Nurse provides ongoing nursing care to patients who have been admitted to the hospital but remain in the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient bed placement. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Evaluates patient medical records to determine the medical necessity and appropriateness of healthcare services. Coordinates with healthcare providers and care teams to ensure compliance with utilization management guidelines and payer requirements. Supports effective treatment planning, patient care coordination, and appropriate resource utilization. Communicates authorization decisions and utilization determinations while supporting timely discharge planning efforts. Analyzes utilization management data and trends to identify opportunities for improved care coordination and operational efficiency. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality patient outcomes. Qualifications Education & Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Florida nursing license required. Experience & Skills Minimum of three (3) years of experience in utilization review, utilization management, or case management required. Knowledge of healthcare utilization guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory compliance standards. Experience evaluating medical necessity, treatment plans, and appropriate levels of care. Strong communication and collaboration skills related to authorization determinations and care coordination. Demonstrated ability to analyze utilization data, identify trends, and support patient care and discharge planning initiatives.

Overview An Advanced Practice Provider III (APP III) is a direct patient care provider licensed in the State of Florida and/or Georgia and provides medical services to patients as defined by their scope of practice and under the supervision of a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida/Georgia. Provides patient care with advanced knowledge of subspecialty service. Clinical Area: Subspecialty Outpatient and/or Inpatient Setting may perform procedures/consults, less than 50% time spent in OR, and/or works in the NICU. Responsibilities Provides timely and appropriate referrals to patients in need of further medical care and services. Responds to consults, schedules procedures and handles discharge planning, as appropriate. Educates and counsels patients/families regarding their health care, including routine health maintenance, as applicable. May provide education and instruction to residents and students. Performs or assists with procedures of higher complexity in clinic or inpatient unit. Monitors and manages invasive and/or medical devices and placement of devices within scope of practice. May manage care of pre/post-operative and pre/post-procedural patients. Overview Description : Provides specialty medical services to patients within the scope of the supervising physician's medical specialty, and under the direction of the department director or division administrator. Assists with specific medical specialty and clinical operations, and counsels' patients regarding their health. May perform minor procedures within the scope of the supervising physician specialty practice licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida/Georgia.Clinical Area: The APP II position provides moderate to complex specialty care primarily in an outpatient setting. May perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with the particular specialty practice, which may occur in an outpatient setting, or procedural area during normal business hours. Responsibilities Job Requirement: Obtains patient histories, performs physical examinations and/or diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, for which they are qualified to perform by training, and which fall within the normal scope of the specialty practice of the supervising physician.
