The primary responsibility of a clinical instructor is to teach and coach nursing students in delivering the best possible patient care, while also providing guidance and support for their educational development. Clinical instructors must be able to identify and assess the level of understanding of subjects and patient care needs with each student. They must monitor the progress of students to ensure success in the program, and also be patient and understanding towards those who struggle with material and patient care related issues.
