EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year of Surgical experience is required. Experience can come in any combination in a role as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Technician. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Certification as a Surgical Technologist. Surgical Technologist Level 3 staff, or above, with a date of hire or adjusted date of hire prior to 8/1/2020 are not required to be certified, as long as they meet the criteria in the job description. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. FTE: 0.900000 Standard Hours: 36.00 Shift: Shift 3, 1900-0730 with every third weekend rotation and holiday rotation. The Froedtert Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU-6NT), recipient of the Beacon Award for Excellence, is a high-energy, 26-bed critical care unit where the majority of MICU patients are severely ill and high acuity, requiring frequent nursing assessment and intervention. Specialty therapies may include: management of septic shock and multisystem organ failure, targeted temperature management, CRRT/CVVH, IL-2 infusions, rapid infusion for emergent fluid or blood replacement, medication desensitization, and flolan/remodulin infusions. The MICU unit culture is one of interdisciplinary collaboration, teamwork and comradery; we are a strong team dedicated to providing the finest quality ICU care for our patients and their families. Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). The Staff RN-Ambulatory Clinics utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health.
