This will include those with respiratory failure due to pneumonia or bronchiolitis, septic shock, neurological emergencies such as seizures, severe trauma, and post-operative patients including neurosurgery and organ transplantation. Will frequently supervise and perform procedures, including intubation and central lines, as well as provide conscious sedation for patients within the ICU. Care is provided in collaboration with all pediatric subspecialties in addition to pediatric nursing, respiratory therapy, and ancillary services. Participate in administrative and academic duties that are pertinent to the section of critical care medicine. This may include research endeavors; supervision and education of residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers (NP or PA); leading educational efforts for nurses; or collaborative quality projects with other areas of the hospital.
