Description Job Title: Clinical Nurse-Med-Surge-Ortho-8E-Mount Sinai Hospital-Per Diem/Days The (Per Diem) Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Responsibilities Patient Care Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. About This Position The Medical Assistant will manage the patient flow throughout the clinic and assist providers in the management and treatment of their patients. Patients come from a variety of backgrounds and various age groups requiring individualized care including infants, children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics. The focus of the Medical Assistant is on collaborative, supportive and delegated tasks as described in the Blaze Health Medical Assistant scope of practice. Delegable tasks and competencies are specific to the role of the Supervising Nurse and Supervising Provider and are described by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. The Medical Assistant receives direction and collaborates with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers to meet the defined goals of the customer, shift, department and organization. Communication with the health care team related to progress, concerns, questions or problems that arise are an essential element of the Medical Assistant role. Unit based skills list outlines specific expectations including technical procedures with competency assessment/validation. Skill and competency validations will occur upon hire and on a schedule determined by Blaze Health based on the Blaze Health Mandatory Education, Training, Education, License, Registration, and Certification policy.
