About Us: The award-winning Neurology team at Valley Children’s Hospital provides diagnostic services, medical treatment, and follow-up care to infants, children, and adolescents who have suspected or confirmed neurological disorders. Our board-certified neurologists and epileptologists manage and treat a variety of patients, including those with seizures, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders and other neurologic conditions. Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Practitioner who is accountable for a "defined" patient population. Functions in the roles of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher within a specialized area of practice. Possesses and exhibits a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in the provision of health care directly to the patient, family or community, or indirectly through guidance of care by other professional personnel. The Professional Development Specialist I-Oncology Nurse Navigation (PDSI) is a member of the nursing leadership team and will work closely with nurse navigation. This role will assist in teaching nurses that are in the Oncology Nurse Navigation role. This role does not involve work in infusion.
