Wellstar started expanding pediatric services ten years ago beyond ambulatory pediatrics and NICU and has built an extensive network of over 80 employed pediatricians, multiple pediatric subspecialities, a large pediatric ER volume of >100,000 pediatric patients per year, and over 14,000 newborn deliveries annually. This network of patients within the system supports the creation of a Pediatric Surgery program at Wellstar to provide excellent care to patients and families close to home and internal to the system. The incoming candidate can expect a schedule that would allow for 2 half days per week in the clinic in addition to elective and emergent surgeries. Candidate would likely be responsible for 7 days a month of call coverage with no trauma or ECMO responsibilities.
