Nurse Manager I

Overview The Nurse Manager is responsible for management of clinical services of the Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery (MIGS) Division, within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). The Nurse Manager works closely with the MIGS Division Director, MIGS Practice Manager, and Department Administrator to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programs that enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction. Overview For a professional Registered Nurse to provide outpatient nursing care and assistance to our providers in the Endocrine Clinic and the Strelitz Diabetes Center. The patient population include diabetes and its comorbidities (hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity etc) as well as thyroid, osteoporosis, pituitary, adrenal, and other hormonal disorders. Overview The Department of Medicine has developed a Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program in collaboration with the Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychiatry. This program is supported by EVMS and Sentara Health. The goal of this program is to provide top-notch outpatient and inpatient clinical care to patients with sickle cell disease. We are looking for Advanced Practice Providers (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care and will participate in the supporting roles of consultant and educator as indicated. The clinical practice will mostly focus on clinical care of patients with Sickle Cell Disease in the hospital and in the outpatient clinic under supervision of clinical faculty. The clinical practice may also include provision of primary care to all types of patients. Responsibilities Independently assess, diagnose, & develop treatment plans for patients with sickle cell disease as well as patients in the area of Primary Care in accordance with protocols and standards of care. Overview Responsible for providing prenatal, postnatal, general medical care and treatment of patients within the Maternal Fetal Medicine division which is a division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Nurse Practitioners are expected to function as an independent provider primarily coordinating pre-pregnancy, prenatal and post-partum care in women with high-risk pregnancies. This position will provide a combination of inpatient and outpatient care duties. Job Description The Med Tech/Caregiver administers resident medication or assist residents with self-administration of medication and coordinate treatments to residents. Provide assistance with activities of daily living while encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, and intellectual well-being.
