Job Description Emergency Room (Full-time, 1300 Shift) *May be eligible for $9,000 sign-on bonus Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse B-Emergency Department(ED), functions in the emergency department licensed under Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta (LUMC-Murrieta) which is a designated ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) receiving center. Works collaboratively with physicians from multiple services lines and assists with common and complex procedures based on orientation and competency. Displays confidence in dealing with community emergency situations, catastrophic incidents and mass casualties. Receives patients from first responders brought in by land and air ambulances, patients that are brought in during mass causalities, and walk-in patients seeking care. Demonstrates flexibility and manages multiple cases simultaneously and continuously prioritizes needs. Works at maximum efficiency without compromising patient care. Implements standing orders appropriately. Handles unexpected situations and changes in direction calmly and with confidence. Understands the significance each role of the multidisciplinary team plays to provide optimum care to the emergency patient, e.g., prehospital care providers, law enforcement agency staff, chaplains, social workers, case managers, multiple physician services and consult staff, licensed and unlicensed care providers, triage nurses. Demonstrates basic knowledge about agencies governing emergency and trauma services, e.g., Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA), local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agency, Riverside Emergency Medical Services Agency (REMSA) and State Emergency Medical Services Authorities (EMSA), in addition to state and federal hospital regulations. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in emergency medicine. Contributes to nursing excellence and embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Exhibits interpersonal skills to maximize patient satisfaction, safe patient care and professionalism. Relocation Assistance (based on eligibility) JOB LOCATION Duke Fertility Center - 5601 Arringdon Park Drive Suite #210 Morrisville, NC 27560 JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II in our Fertility Center located in Morrisville, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs direct patient care – including rooming patients, chaperoning and assisting with exams and bedside procedures, ensures patient history are up to date in medical record, administers medications per protocol/order and performs basic lab tests (venipuncture, POCT) on premises. e professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care. Is knowledgeable of the procedural areas including setup, assisting, room turnover, and how to respond to a patient emergency. Is knowledgeable regarding high level disinfection as well as sterile processing within the clinic for all medical equipment that is processed in house. Collaborates with nurse manager regarding schedule development for clinical team. Adheres to professional standard, policies, procedures, EOC, JCAHO, and Infection control. Acts as clinical liaison between patients, clinical and clerical teams to ensure appropriate patient care is provided. Establishes and maintains productive ethical working relationships with patients, coworkers, referring providers, and commercial agencies. Develop, document, implement and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory health care site mission settlement and objectives. Function as Team Leader by providing support as needed in staffing/direct patient care, resolving issues as they arise, maintaining clinic supplies and equipment, and coordinating staff coverage. Lead PI projects and/or serves as a DHIP clinic champion/liaison. Sends normal lab results to patients via mychart, routes abnormal lab results to providers. First line of defense for assignment rearranging during double booked appointments or call outs. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Rotating weekend requirement, no more than one weekend per month. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date.
