In partnership with the registered nurse, demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting through oversight of the interdisciplinary health care team to provide holistic care and advocate for patients and families served. The Student Nurse Intern's practice is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics. Responsible for having a validated Skills Checklist available at all times while working as a SNI. May perform duties only after their skills have been validated by the school of Nursing in conjunction with the KH RN preceptor. Students are responsible for taking the Skills Checklist to the school of nursing for completion. Works under the supervision of a KH RN preceptor. SNIs are directly responsible to the RN for performing basic bedside care and selected nursing procedures.
