Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Cardiology Clinic! Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position provides direct patient care within the Cardiology clinic setting under the supervision of an RN/provider. Responsibilities include preparing exam and treatment areas, rooming patients, administering and documenting medications, performing nursing procedures and treatments within scope, and supporting the clinical team with patient education, referrals, and prior authorizations related to cardiac care. Major Job Duties & Responsibilities Properly prepares for care of patient by participating in pre-visit planning, preparing exam and treatment areas per clinic standards. Completes patient rooming procedures to include vital signs, data collection and other identified components specific to the clinic setting. Accurately administers and documents medications in accordance with best practice and clinic policy. Performs nursing procedures and treatments within Scope of Responsibilities according to nursing division and clinic specific standards. Demonstrates the ability to accurately perform and document assessments, apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and implement change to the plan of care in collaboration with RN/provider. Provide/distribute preapproved/preprinted patient education materials. Provide reinforcement of health teaching and discharge instruction provided by RN/provider, directing all patient questions to RN/provider. Completes independent nurse visits as allowed per scope and department policy with appropriate supervision. Assist in management of inbox and complete patient referrals/prior authorizations per policy and scope. Assists and actively participates in onboarding and mentoring of clinical staff per scope and as directed. Positively supports and contributes to departmental development as evidenced by participating in meetings, committees, and continuing education/training. Ensures documentation in the patient record is accurate, clear, concise within outlined Scope of Responsibilities. All other duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Basic knowledge in electronic documentation. Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Ability to assess patient’s needs and coordinate appropriate nursing care. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiovascular conditions. Skill in accurately obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient rooming data. Knowledge of safe medication administration and documentation practices. Ability to provide patient education and reinforce discharge instructions as directed by the RN/provider. Knowledge of referral and prior authorization processes within scope and clinic policy. Skill in performing and documenting nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in collaboration with the RN/provider. Educational Requirements Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing. Must have or obtain a Montana LPN license. Certification – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required. Experience Preferred: 1+ years of Healthcare Experience Schedule Work hours are based on the needs of the department and may change. Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our OB/GYN team! The Certified Nurse Midwife will provide independent, comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care. The CNM will manage the labor including admissions, assessments of maternal/fetal status, and delivery. The CNM will evaluate and manage routine pregnancies and work with consulting OB/GYNs on high-risk patients. The Certified Nurse Midwofe will conduct well-woman examinations, family planning, and STD/HIV care. Caring for women during childbirth including monitoring the mother and fetus during labor, assessing labor progress, managing complications, assisting with pain management, performing episiotomies if needed, and delivering the newborn and placenta. Actively seeks opportunities to offer task assistance to all CPMC Team Members as appropriate. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts processes and care plan to ensure optimal patient care and documents per policy. Administers medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. Follows the six (6) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. Performs First Assist on cesarean sections or surgeries. Demonstrate knowledge of rehabilitative midwifery nursing including pre- and post-operative care. Work with or co-manage with Family Medicine OB, OB/GYN, and MFM. Participates in meetings, committees, and continuing education to improve individual, departmental, and organization performance. Performs waived testing (point of care), preventive health screenings and tests, diagnosing and treating gynecological disorders, per Clinical Laboratory’s and unit’s policies and procedures. Interprets results of screenings and tests and taking appropriate action on results. Assess patient needs and coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Basic computer knowledge. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of nursing midwifery care principles, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of safety principles and infection prevention in the patient care environment. Confirming and dating pregnancies. Providing prenatal and postpartum care. Admitting and discharging of in-patient mothers and newborns. Providing education for new parents on infant care. Supporting new mothers who are breastfeeding with education and training. Preparing pregnant women for what to expect during the birthing process. Must be able to pass N-95 respiratory testing or have the ability wear a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) annually. Must meet clinical competency standards specific to Labor and Delivery. Schedule Based on the needs of the department. 8-10 hour shifts. Be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call hours. Education Requirements Masters or DNP graduate degree in nursing with specialty in midwifery MT state or compact state nurse licensure ID state or compact state nurse licensure Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) DEA and state prescriptive authority Current BLS certification ACLS, NRP, Intermediate EFM & PALS; must obtain within 3 months of hire Experience Minimum of two (2) years experience working in the CNM role. 120-200 deliveries working in the CNM role.
