The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients by performing assessments, diagnosing conditions, and prescribing treatments within their scope of practice. Key Responsibilities: Screen patients to determine their need for medical attention. Perform history taking and problem-focused physical exams. Conduct pre-operative full physical exams. Diagnose orthopedic conditions. Record data in the patient electronic medical record. Assign durable medical equipment and refer for physical therapy as needed. Perform injections, strapping, splinting, and casting for sprains and fractures, as well as remove such devices. Provide general wound care, including dressing and bandage application. Conduct pre-operative counseling as needed. Prescribe narcotic and non-narcotic pain medications, anti-inflammatories, and anti-infectives when appropriate. Order and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and bone scans. In this role, you will assist in providing exceptional patient care by documenting patient encounters, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs, and preparing for and assisting with exams, procedures, and wound/incision dressing changes. You will also handle patient phone calls and communicate with other offices and facilities on behalf of the patient.
