Nurse Manager - Birthing Center

Position Summary : The Nurse Manager, Birthing Center provides unit leadership within the Perinatal, Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Mother-Baby Departments The Nurse Manager, Birthing Center s is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsibilities include coordination of patient care; supervision of a professional team that includes nursing and other licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate; administrative and budget management; troubleshooting of problem areas; organizational change management; ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; quality assurance/quality improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as actualization of hospital and unit policies, goals and objectives. Further, improving unit operations, enhancing communication and feedback, customizing education and staff roles, and accepting organizational accountability for services provided to recipients are critical outcomes expected of this role. Collaborative leadership, strong organizational skills, and communication skills are essential for this role. The ideal candidate would possess strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality patient care in a rural healthcare setting. Education: Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group {i.e.: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric} served on their assigned unit. Preferred: Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree or Master’s degree. Education: Five (5) years of labor and delivery, post partum, mother baby experience or equivalent. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) an NRP, AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal heart monitoring certification within 6 months of hire. Preferred : Certification in area of practice. (Consistent with the type of patient population to be managed) Two years in management experience. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room

Job Purpose: The Licensed Practical Nurse is a care provide who assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her patients within the limits of his/her education and the Nurse Practice Act, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. The limits of the Licensed Practical Nurse’s responsibility defined by hospital policy keeping with the New York State Code, Rules, and Regulations and the NYS Education Department. Work is performed under the supervisor of a Registered Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, Work Rules, Human Resources Protocol & Procedures, nursing department/unit structure, process and outcome standards, state regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals and mission of the hospital and nursing department. This takes into account the individual patient’s special physical or age relate needs. Education: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education. Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or completion of required components to satisfy LPN licensing examination.
