Position Summary : The Nurse Manager, Birthing Center provides unit leadership within the Perinatal, Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Mother-Baby Departments The Nurse Manager, Birthing Center s is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsibilities include coordination of patient care; supervision of a professional team that includes nursing and other licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate; administrative and budget management; troubleshooting of problem areas; organizational change management; ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; quality assurance/quality improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as actualization of hospital and unit policies, goals and objectives. Education: Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma. Job Purpose The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor position is to coordinate the activities of the patient care units in a centralized nursing environment. The Nursing Supervisor assists the Nurse Managers in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of patient care within the Division of Nursing, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs, investigates and resolves complaints, and maintains a safe environment for staff and patients. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for operating the entire hospital in the absence of Department Heads and Administration, with the support of the designated “Administrator-on-call.” Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an associate’s degree or diploma required.
