Full-time Registered Nurse - Tempe

SUMMARY Provides direct nursing care to clients during the surgical abortion procedure and for recovery care for post-surgical abortion period. The RN works in partnership with the Health Center Team to provide quality patient care and excellent customer service. Participates as a member of a team providing confidential, quality patient services, allowing patients to maintain a sense of dignity, trust and safety. Follows PPFA and the organization’s protocols, policies and procedures and any center-specific policies and procedures. Ensures productivity expectations, customer service and compliance standards are maintained. Abides by the organization’s mission in performing job duties. Clinic Working days: Monday - Friday GENERAL PRIORITIES Procedure Room Provide excellent customer service. Ensures that any client who requests an abortion is aware that she may change her decision at any time Assist physician and patient during abortion procedures Ensure patient electronic records/charts and logs are completed Notifies physician of any medical problem May perform blood draws, TB testing, injections, including vaccines, basic ultrasonography Dispenses medications to the client as directed by the abortion physician. DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES Recovery Room • Monitor patients in recovery room. • Maintains client statistics to be given to on-call staff. • Maintains accurate inventory of all drugs that are dispensed in the recovery room. • Completes appropriate cleanup of the recovery room at the end of each clinic General Responsibilities • Practices nursing within the scope of a registered nurse and in accordance with agency protocols and policies. • Provides education in a non-judgmental manner to patients by providing support and information on reproductive and sexual health issues. • Consults with organization physician when deviates from standard medical protocols. • Complies with all applicable state, OSHA, CLIA standards, infection control, safety, and DEA regulations. • Understands and complies with policies regarding patient rights. • Participate in health center staff meetings, trainings, quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills. • Creates and maintains an environment of dignity and safety for patient sensitivity and privacy. • Provides direct nursing care to clients. SUMMARY The Health Care Assistant is responsible for the performance of front and back-office duties in Planned Parenthood Health Centers. Services include an emphasis on family planning and reproductive health care, including the provision of birth control and comprehensive contraceptive counseling, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy testing, counseling and referrals, HIV testing, annual exams, abortion care and more. GENERAL PRIORITIES Front Office Front desk reception - greets clients in a professional, friendly manner. Instructs clients how to complete appropriate paperwork. Provides general information and patient education including discussing pregnancy options with patients provides patients with information on all contraceptive methods including Emergency Contraception and abortion education. Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Tucson

SUMMARY Planned Parenthood Arizona services include an emphasis on family planning and reproductive health care, including the provision of birth control and comprehensive contraceptive counseling, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy testing, counseling and referral, HIV testing, annual exams, abortion care and more. In addition, PPAZ focuses on providing medically accurate sexuality education and training services throughout the state. Work operation Days: Mon- Friday One evening shift pre week GENERAL PRIORITIES • Participates in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity. • Adheres to affiliate policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints. • Participates in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals. • Accepts individual responsibility for, and works jointly with the Center Manager to achieve: • Customer satisfaction, client access, client retention and clinical outcomes standards. • Appropriate and adequate documentation of patient records to facilitate accurate charge capture and billing. • Performs appropriate medical screening and procedures including, but not limited to, breast and pelvic examination. • Provides counsel and advice on family planning methods to patients • Provides counseling, advice, and care for HIV prevention • Provides counseling, advice and care for gender affirming treatment • Provides direct to patient telehealth care and management for services • Refers patients with abnormal conditions or other medical problems found on the examination to the supervising physician • Understands and participates in the referral/follow-up process. • Provides unbiased objective information on abortion, adoption and parenting as requested by patient.
