RN Responsibilities: Maintains appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act. Evaluates staffing pattern needed to meet the needs of the residents in conjunction with the Director of Nursing. Administers medication/treatments as prescribed. Maintains appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices. Observing patients, charting, and reporting changes in patients conditions Answering patients calls and determining how to assist them Providing basic patient care or treatments Working as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions Receive, transcribe, and implement physician’s orders. Implements and evaluates care plans. Identifies/secures equipment supplies Directs/oversees subordinates. Participates in duty assignments. Organizes/coordinates subordinates, job tasks, and time allotments. Oversees/monitors function and activities of subordinate staff. Evaluate staff performance and institutes appropriate action discipline/training. Monitor’s infection control compliance. Investigates/documents accidents/incidents. Other duties as assigned. Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for residents. Advises supervising charge nurse of resident’s status at beginning and end of shift. Contributes knowledge of resident’s conditions/needs to resident care plans. Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within the parameters of established policy and procedure. Observes and reports on residents’ conditions, and documents observations as required. Complies with requirements of procedures for safe lifting and/or safe transfer of residents per established policies and procedures. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Assures that equipment is clean and functional. Performs incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks as may be required to maintain a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Other duties as assigned.
