We are looking for an experienced DON to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility (200 + beds). The DON will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. This position requires a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse with finely developed managerial and administrative skills with an emphasis on problem-solving. The DON must foster a work environment committed to excellence that will support staff working in the facility and patients alike. Job Description: · DON takes the lead in planning, organizing, and directing the Nursing Department. · Identifies the needs, problems, and progress of nursing services and makes recommendations for improvement. · Enforce policies and provides guidance to the nursing staff. · Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator. · Works as weekend Supervisor as part of a Department head monthly rotation. · Conducts regular rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care. · Carries out, coordinates, and manages administrative functions in areas or programs related to nursing services. Requirements/Qualifications: · Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Professional Nurses license in the State of practice. · Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and mature judgments. · Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department. · M inimum of 2 years of progressive nursing in Long Term Care with managerial experience.
