Job Summary:

As an advanced practice provider in the New Ulm Emergency Department, you will work alongside a team of ED physicians and have access to support from a wide variety of specialties. You'll have 24/7 access to system service lines (mental health, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, etc.). The New Ulm ED sees 9.5k visits annually and has 11 beds, and is a level IV trauma center, stroke-ready. You will also have support from an experienced team of nurses and an employed network of EMS.

Key Position Details:

  • Need to be able to pick up two shifts p/month
  • Standard shift hours Sun eve, M-T daytime, additional shifts will likely be available on weekends during surge season and vacation coverage

Principle Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive patient assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment
  • Order and interpret medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
  • Provide patient education and consult with physician teammates when the patient's need is outside of scope
  • Promote communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff and act as a resource to members of the team
  • Act as liaison with outside agencies as needed

Pay Range

Pay Range: $141,731 to $155,896 per year

The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).

The University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) is a 1,932 licensed bed facility, Level III Trauma Center, Stroke Center and Level I Cardiac Center. Between our two adult emergency departments, approximately 50,000 patients are seen with close to 14,000 admissions annually. In our pediatric emergency department approximately 23,000 patients are seen annually accounting for 3,000 admissions. Our PAs and NPs serve as integral members of a multidisciplinary team providing excellence in emergency medical care.
