Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care in an inpatient psychiatric setting. This role is central to patient recovery—administering medications, monitoring health status, documenting care, and responding to urgent medical needs.
You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary treatment team to implement individualized care plans while maintaining a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients and colleagues alike.
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 20 years of age
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kansas
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
Experience in behavioral health settings
What You’ll Do
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and reassessments
Administer medications and monitor medication administration records using barcode scanning
Review and implement provider orders promptly
Monitor patient conditions, allergies, and reactions to medications or foods
Provide first aid and basic wound care within scope of practice
Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record (EHR)
Obtain and record vital signs and collect lab specimens as ordered
Coordinate appointments and communicate with pharmacy and providers
Participate in treatment teams and collaborate on individualized care plans
Support patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility
Lead or assist with therapeutic and educational groups
Respond to crises using trained de-escalation techniques
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and all regulatory standards
Maintain clean, safe, and organized clinical environments
Complete all documentation before end of shift and provide thorough handoff reports

Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and active patient engagement. Duties may include lifting up to 75 pounds, assisting with patient mobility, and performing tasks that require physical agility. Visual acuity and attention to detail are essential for safe and effective patient care.
