Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments (including platelet rich plasma kits) or other specialized equipment (musculoskeletal ultrasound), and monitoring the patient’s condition before, during, and following the procedure. Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice. Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families, and employee satisfaction. In addition to the education, certification and experience listed in the basic contract and the position description, Travis AFB, Sports Medicine Clinic LPVNs will be trained on additional computer operating systems (as applicable) for completion of mission accomplishment, i.e. MHS GENESIS, ONENOTE, ASIMS, etc. Assists with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed. Performs appropriate portions of medical examinations, treatment, diagnostic, and clinical procedures. Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine medical needs. Maintains patient medical records in electronic format as well as hard copy as required. Maintains patient confidentially. Keeps a running log of procedures done on each patient in a password protected excel spreadsheet for the fellows.
