LPN School Contract

Make a meaningful difference in a childs school experience as a contract LPN supporting an elementary student with complex medical needs. As an essential member of a dedicated support team, youll work one-on-one with a 7-year-old student, helping her participate fully in her school day and travel safely to and from campus.

Your expertise will be crucial in providing consistent care throughout the day and working collaboratively with both school staff and the childs family.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current and unencumbered LPN or LVN license
  • Experience with pediatric patients in school or home care settings strongly preferred
  • Proficient with g-tube and tracheostomy care, including monitoring, maintenance, and emergency procedures
  • Ability to provide safe support for physical transfers and lifting (prior experience using adaptive strollers or wheelchair equipment a plus)
  • Skilled in personal care, including diapering and use of adaptive changing equipment (two-person transfers required)
  • Familiarity with non-verbal communication and alternative communication devices appreciated
  • Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accompany student on school bus: pick up at 9:00 AM, drop off at 4:21 PM, ensuring safe transit
  • Deliver hands-on medical and physical care throughout the school day, including g-tube feedings, trach suctioning, and toileting
  • Assist with student transfers (lifting, positioning) using adaptive equipment and in partnership with staff as needed
  • Support communication efforts, respecting and encouraging use of AAC devices
  • Maintain accurate, confidential care documentation
