Position Summary:
The SDC/IP leads staff education and infection prevention efforts to ensure high-quality resident care and full regulatory compliance. This role oversees clinical training, orientation, and infection control programs while promoting a safe and well-prepared nursing team.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • 2–3 years of long-term care/skilled nursing experience
  • Staff education or infection prevention experience preferred
  • CIC or infection prevention training (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing orientation, in-services, and ongoing education
  • Maintain staff competency and training records
  • Oversee infection prevention program and surveillance
  • Monitor infection trends and implement prevention strategies
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and state regulations
  • Conduct audits (hand hygiene, PPE, infection control practices)
  • Support QAPI, survey readiness, and policy updates
