Step into a dynamic role where your RN expertise will have a meaningful impact across a vibrant school community. Working on a contract basis through the end of the school year, you’ll float between PreK-12th grade sites in the district, delivering high-quality care to students and staff. This position involves quickly adapting to new environments, multitasking amid fluctuating priorities, and exercising independent judgment as the primary nurse at your assigned locations.

You’ll enjoy an engaging workflow—covering health rooms, responding to school needs, and supporting field trips. Comprehensive two-week training sets you up for success before you take charge of your own site. Schedules will vary, tailored weekly based on building needs, field trips, and staff absences, so adaptability and clear communication are essential. Technology proficiency is critical, as you’ll handle all charting and documentation electronically.

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in Missouri, verified through Nursys (no disciplinary actions)
  • Minimum one year of pediatric experience in ICU, ER, or a school setting (recent experience required), no new graduates
  • Comfortable working independently and with students PreK-12
  • Flexible and able to adjust to last-minute scheduling changes
  • Strong communication and technology skills
  • Ability and willingness to float to multiple buildings and attend off-site field trips

Responsibilities:

  • Provide health assessments, triage, and urgent care for students and staff
  • Manage site health rooms independently after training
  • Adapt quickly to varying schedules and school environments
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for students of all ages

This position runs through May 22, with an option to extend for ESY (June 1-25, Monday-Thursday, 22-25 hours/week).
