School RN in Blue Springs, MO

A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced RN to support student health and well-being across multiple PreK-12 sites for the remainder of the school year, with the potential to extend into the summer ESY program (June 1–25, Monday through Thursday). This position has a flexible weekly schedule—ranging from 35-40 hours through May 22, and 22-25 hours during ESY. Adaptability, collaboration, and strong independent skills are essential, as you’ll float to various sites (sometimes multiple in one day), provide coverage for field trips, and often be the primary nurse managing a school health room after an initial two-week training.

Key Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Missouri—verified via Nursys
• Recent pediatric nursing experience, ideally in ICU, ER, or school settings (no new grads)
• Strong computer skills for electronic charting and multitasking
• Proven flexibility; comfortable with changing assignments and start times (between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.)
• Effective communicator, able to collaborate with a variety of staff and maintain composure during schedule changes
• Comfortable working with PreK-12 students and across multiple sites

Primary Responsibilities:

• Independently manage school health rooms; respond quickly to student health needs
• Float between different district schools, cover for nurse absences, and accompany field trips as needed
• Provide first aid, manage chronic health conditions, med administration, and emergency response
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and communicate health information to staff/parents as needed
• Participate in initial two-week training and embrace ongoing learning
