York Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Risk Educator to join our team. This role is responsible for promoting a culture of safety and quality care by educating staff on risk management practices, regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices. The RN Risk Educator will work collaboratively with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to reduce clinical risk, enhance patient safety, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate, and deliver staff education related to risk management, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
Monitor and analyze incident reports, trends, and quality indicators to identify areas for improvement.
Provide training on proper documentation, clinical protocols, and safety procedures.
Collaborate with department leaders to implement risk reduction strategies and corrective action plans.
Support orientation and ongoing competency training for nursing staff.
Assist with audits, surveys, and regulatory readiness initiatives.
Maintain accurate training records and ensure staff completion of required education.
Stay current with healthcare regulations, evidence-based practices, and long-term care standards.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience; experience in long-term care or rehabilitation preferred.
Experience in staff education, quality assurance, or risk management strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and patient safety standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
Ability to analyze data and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with incident reporting systems and quality improvement programs.
Knowledge of CMS, state regulations, and long-term care compliance standards.
Strong organizational and training facilitation skills.
