RN-Critical Care, 8-Hour, OR (FT, Variable) Monterey Park Hospital

Overview

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Registered Nurse for our OR. This is a full-time, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services. 

Responsibilities

The OR RN uses specialized knowledge and skills in the care of patients and families undergoing invasive OR procedures. The OR RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, and evaluate patient care while managing and administering moderate sedation. The OR RN is responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and caring environment, one in which the OR team can function and in which the outcome for the patient is as positive as possible. He/she manages and oversees equipment, instrumentation, and supplies of this specialty service, and provides patient education and support to the other OR staff. The OR RN will also have responsibilities in providing care and support in our GI lab. The OR RN is knowledgeable in pharmacology and physiological systems, meets and exceeds the CDPH, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred. 
  • One-year acute care hospital experience in OR/GI Lab preferred.
  • Current CA RN license required.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association is required.
  • ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association are required within 2 months of employment. 
  • For new hires with no Operating Room experience, Periop 101 training is preferred.
