Department Overview

Our Minneapolis medical/surgical float team is an integral part of nursing services within our medical/surgical community and provides valuable resources to the hospital system. Team members apply specific skill sets to four departments  and provide additional resources as needs are identified. This approach offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. The float team is extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and flexible with the care they provide and units they support. We value teamwork, open communication, safety and respect. Position Summary

Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.

THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.

Education Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 
* Current Minnesota RN licensure. 
* Current BLS certification.
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification. One (1) year experience (within the last 2 years) working with specialized patient population (e.g. Neurosciences, inpatient psychiatry). Pediatric experience preferred. An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position. 
* Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

This .80 fte position will be based at our Hugo clinic with potential for coverage at our Roseville or Lino Lakesclinics. This position will work in clinic Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday days (start time between 7:45am – 8:30am and end time between 4:15pm – 5:30pm). This position provides triage support for our clinic at the North Suburban Family Physicians clinics by using protocols embedded in the electronic medical record and a variety of resources including standing orders and protocols. This position also includes occasionally working with patients that have questions or needs once on-site . In addition, this role provides comprehensive assessments to establish and evaluate a plan of care and address changes in a patient’s condition, delegates nursing tasks when appropriate and provides supervision and monitoring of function or activity, creates and implements dynamic teaching plans based upon identified patient need and acts as a resource for other staff. Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current RN licensure in Minnesota Current RN licensure in Wisconsin (within two months of hire) Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
