We are seeking a compassionate and reliable School Nurse (Certified School Nurse or Registered Nurse) to support the health and safety of students in a school setting in Calumet City. Position Details

Job Type: Part-Time, Full School Year
Caseload: Elementary School
Location: Calumet City, IL
Schedule: 2 days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30-4:00

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and health monitoring
Manage and implement student health plans, including IEPs, 504 Plans, and Individual Health Plans (IHPs)
Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)
Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care
Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student health and attendance
Promote health education and preventative care practices within the school community
Ensure compliance with district policies and state nursing standards

Qualifications

Certified School Nurse (CSN-PEL) or active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Bachelors degree in Nursing
Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
