Job Description
The Inpatient Acute Care Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join an existing team of highly skilled APPs in the care of patients requiring specialized cardiac care. Under the supervision of the Clinical Chief of Inpatient Cardiology, APP Manager for Inpatient Cardiology, and the Director of the Heart and Vascular Center. The Cardiology APP will play a critical role in the inpatient setting, with both team-member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include acute care management as well as pre- and post-procedural patient examination and assessment, diagnosis, and management of care, including but not limited to diagnosis; management, treatment implementation, coordination and continuity of care, development of practice protocols, and education of patients, families, and other health care practitioners. May be asked to perform consults. The Cardiology APP will collaborate with esteemed cardiology faculty to provide care, facilitate diagnostic testing and interventions, and coordinate a comprehensive discharge. Prior cardiology APP experience required as this is a high-volume, high-acuity service. Must have the ability to practice autonomously and as a part of the larger team at various campuses as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing-approved or verified school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing-approved or verified school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Must have completed a cardiology rotation with the UCSF Cardiology APP team
- .Experience with presenting patients to cardiology attending in AM rounds in a succinct, accurate, and direct manner
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Experience caring for cardiac post-procedure patients, Ie. TAVR, Pacemakers, ablations, and PCI
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction
- California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges
- NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role
- California Driver License (if required for position)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Additional required AHA certifications: ACLS
- Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None
