Desired Skills and Experience:
- Current LPN/LVN license in good standing
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support children with diverse physical, developmental, and emotional needs
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to remain composed and professional in dynamic school settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on nursing care, such as medication administration, monitoring chronic conditions, and responding to health incidents during the school day
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of individualized health plans in collaboration with teachers and support staff
- Provide health education and support to students, helping them understand and manage their own care needs
- Document and report on student health concerns, incidents, and interventions
- Work closely with parents/guardians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for students in the special education program
- Adapt care strategies for both regular school days and summer school programming
