You'll work one-on-one with a student, ensuring their medical needs are met and empowering them to thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active California RN or LVN/LPN license required
- Strong clinical skills and previous experience with tracheotomy care
- Prior experience working in school-based, pediatric, or special needs environments is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- CPR/BLS certification
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a commitment to inclusive care
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care and health monitoring for a student with a tracheostomy
- Collaborate with educational staff, therapists, and families to ensure seamless support throughout the school day
- Prepare and implement care plans, medication administration, and emergency interventions as necessary
- Document care activities and communicate critical updates to the school nurse coordinator and family
- Advocate for the students health needs and facilitate a safe classroom experience
