An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse seeking a meaningful one-to-one position supporting a kindergarten student with high-acuity medical needs. This role is ideal for a compassionate RN with a strong pediatric background who thrives in a dynamic school setting and values relationship-building with students and families.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted RN license
- Demonstrated expertise in high-acuity pediatric nursing, including ventilator and tracheostomy management
- Comfortable and confident providing inline suctioning and managing oxygen dependency
- Experience with G-tube care, including multiple daily feedings and medication administration
- Capable of monitoring frequent vitals and performing thorough physical assessments
- Skilled with respiratory protocols, including inline nebulizers and speaking valve trials
- Reliable and committed to consistent, one-on-one care throughout the school year and extended school year (ESY)
- Professionalism and adaptability to support both ambulatory and wheelchair-based student transportation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive 1:1 medical care for a kindergarten student, ensuring safety and well-being during all school activities
- Ride the bus daily with the student, managing any emergent health concerns during transportation
- Administer prescribed treatments, including G-tube feeds and medications, ventilator/trach support, and respiratory therapies as ordered
- Collaborate with school staff, therapy teams, and family members to support the students daily and long-term health goals
- Conduct frequent health assessments, document observations, and respond rapidly to any changes in condition
The assignment is set to start May 24 and will continue through the end of the school year and ESY. The weekly schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:45am to 4:00pm, and Tuesday 7:45am to 3:00pm.
