
MEDICAL IMAGING - CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT PRE/POST PREP
Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: Assists patients with needs and procedural preparation and recovery before and after interventional cardiology and radiology procedures. Provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the pre/post procedure registered nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. Maintains open communication with patients, visitors, and interdisciplinary team members. Provides monitoring of telemetry patients and communicates abnormalities to appropriate supervising staff. If phlebotomy certified, may assist with lab draws.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Provides basic nursing care that includes actions that meet psychosocial needs and communication needs within the nursing assistant’s scope of practice.
2. Ensures that patient’s needs are met before, during, after cardiology procedures.
3. Documents procedural details quickly and accurately within the Cerner electronic health record with appropriate training.
4. Ensures that patient intraprocedural hygiene needs are met, i.e. toileting needs, assisting the patient if they become nauseous.
5. Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
6. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain, or if vital signs fall outside of normal parameters.
7. Demonstrates ability to communicate to the RN any observed changes in patient status. Maintains awareness of the needs of the geriatric and general patient population.
8. Demonstrates ability to transfer patients safely and utilizes proper body mechanics and techniques.
9. Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patient; answers questions within scope of practice.
10. Communicates appropriately and clearly to nurse, co-workers, and physicians.

Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.
Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program. Current unencumbered CNA certification. Current BLS. Basic dysrhythmia course or certified telemetry course to be completed within 6 weeks of hire.
Experience: Prior CNA/Monitor Tech experience preferred.
