ED - MAIN ENTRANCE ATTENDANT CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a After Hours Main Entrance Attendant (CNA) to join our team! 

JOB SUMMARY: The Main Entrance Attendant (CNA) supports after-hours operations by managing the hospital main entrance, assisting patients and visitors, and monitoring safety. This role helps maintain patient flow, ensures all arrivals are directed appropriately, and provides basic clinical support as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Entrance & Patient Support
    1. Greets and assists all patients and visitors entering after hours
    2. Directs individuals to the Emergency Department or appropriate area
    3. Assists with wheelchairs and patient mobility
    4. Provides clear, calm communication and support
  2. Flow & Communication
    1. Ensures all arriving patients are acknowledged and directed for care
    2. Communicates patient arrivals, concerns, or delays to ED staff
    3. Helps maintain smooth front-end flow and reduce congestion
  3. Safety & Observation
    1. Monitors entrance and lobby area for safety concerns
    2. Observes patients for changes in condition and reports immediately
    3. Maintains a visible presence to support a secure environment
  4. Clinical Support (CNA Scope)
    1. Assists with patient transport and basic intake as needed
    2. Provides comfort measures (blankets, positioning, etc.)
    3. Communicates patient needs to nursing staff promptly
    4. Assist with other tasks as assigned
  5. Environment & Operations
    1. Maintains cleanliness and organization of entrance/lobby areas
    2. Ensures door access and visitor policies are followed
    3. Stocks basic supplies (wheelchairs, linens, PPE)

Assists physician and RN with endoscopic procedures. 3Assists with specimens according to policy. Applies the principles of aseptic technique and prescribed procedure room procedures to competently perform endoscopy technician functions. Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment by adhering to cleaning, care, utilizations and sterilization procedures as directed. Notifies supervisor of any malfunction of equipment. Uses and maintains DSD according to manufacturer recommendations. Ensures a clean and tidy work area throughout the scope process. Restocks endoscopy room with designated supplies. The Pre-op Ward Clerk / Unit Secretary: Answers phones, transfers calls, handles requests and takes messages. Makes phone calls to patients when arrival times are changed. Will keep Charge nurse updated with calls as needed. Handles Surgical Schedules: Prints copies of the surgery schedule Update schedules daily Is responsible for patient charts for final review by Charge Nurse: Inserts paperwork, lab reports, EKG’s, history & physicals, and physician orders.
