DESCRIPTION: The  Nurse Practitioner has special knowledge and skills in health maintenance, disease prevention, psychosocial physical assessment and management of health-illness needs in the specialty listed or primary care of the family. EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited program of nursing. Must have successfully completed additional theoretical and clinical education through an accredited graduate level family nurse practitioner program.   REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Must maintain current Oklahoma licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and as an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). Must maintain current certification as a family nurse practitioner through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience working as part of a hospitalist team required.     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a family nurse practitioner is preferred but not required.
