HIGHER LEARNING - CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:       

The Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor works collaboratively with the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) Workforce Training and Continuing Education (WTCE) to provide the didactic and clinical portion of the CEI Workforce Training CNA course of instruction. Serves as a primary instructor of CNA, Assistance with Medication classes and clinical instruction for CNA Program. Will be responsible for planning and implementing the CNA curriculum and collaborating with CEI in evaluating and testing of CNA candidates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide the didactic, lab, and clinical portions of the CNA class, using current textbook for guidance in lesson planning.
2. Provide clinical instruction and oversight for other CNA courses and/or nursing program clinical experiences.
3. Create and maintain an up-to-date syllabus and revise the student CNA handbook as needed to provide students with rules, regulations, and expectations required for successful completion of the course
4. Evaluate, rate, and test CNA candidates
5. Maintain strict adherence to CNA state and federal guidelines for procedure, practice, and operation.
6. Report to the Lead CNA instructor and other appropriate parties regularly; in a timely and effective manner.
7. Maintain current professional knowledge and conduct while adhering to the standards of MVH, CEI, and WTCE.
8. Respond to students, instructors, and staff with written and verbal communication.

Education/Certification:  A current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Idaho. Must be approved by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) as an approved CNA Instructor and show evidence of completing a Train-the-Trainer type program if not already completed.

Experience:  : Evidence of two (2) years’ experience working as a registered nurse and evidence of one (1) year experience in caring for the elderly in a Long-Term Care Facility or equivalent as an RN.

Equipment/Technology: Microsoft Office Suite, online learning management system (LMS) software, education and training equipment.

Competently helps treat wounds of the following categories as directed by the Nurse or Wound Specialist: Venous, Arterial, Diabetic, Burns, Surgical, Neuropathic, Traumatic, Bacterial, Viral and Fungal. Is knowledgeable of the age specific attributes of the patients presenting for care. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
