This contract opportunity offers full-time hours during the school year (30 hours per week) in an itinerant role, working closely with medically fragile students on a 1:1 basis. Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid LPN/LVN licensure for California required
  • Previous school nursing experience, especially with medically fragile or special needs students, is highly valued
  • Strong clinical skills: experience with gastronomy care, bladder cauterization, diabetes/insulin management (including CGM & carb counting), administration of medication (Epipen, Benadryl, etc.)
  • Confident in training staff and supporting classroom teams in medical procedures
  • Familiarity working with students aged 4-22, including those with ASD and developmental delays
  • Ability to respond promptly and efficiently to urgent health needs
  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred, though not required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and update seizure and individualized health plans
  • Deliver training to school staff on specific medical procedures
  • Build relationships with students and connect regularly with parents
  • Provide on-call support for urgent health issues during school hours
  • Assist with direct care, including medication administration and daily medical needs
