This part-time opportunity (18.522.5 hours per week) is an itinerant 1:1 role providing specialized care for medically fragile students around the Union City area. Key Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in California
  • Experience providing medical care to children and youth, including those with autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays
  • Skilled in managing seizure protocols, diabetes care (including CGM, insulin, carb counting), hypo- and hyperglycemia
  • Proficient in procedures such as gastronomy tube care, bladder catheterization, and medication administration (Epipens, Benadryl, etc.)
  • Able to perform staff training on health and emergency procedures
  • Comfortable adapting to an itinerant schedule, rotating across campuses and working one-on-one with students
  • Excellent communication skills for connecting with parents, caregiving teams, and school staff
  • Spanish-speaking skills a plus, though not required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement seizure and health plans for assigned students
  • Provide urgent medical care as needed and support direct student care throughout the school day
  • Educate and train school staff on healthcare procedures and student-specific protocols
  • Maintain thoughtful and professional relationships with families to ensure open lines of communication and trust
  • Remain on-call for any urgent health needs during your hours
