Registered Nurse RN Duties:

  • Uses nursing judgement and knowledge of gerontological nursing to set priorities and make decisions.

  • Meets nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.

  • Implements physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Performs standard nursing treatments and observes resident for desired and unwanted effects.

  • Assesses & implement Residents’ care plans when conditions warrant a change as necessary.

  • Completes care plans and other documents as assigned.

  • Complies with the confidentiality of all resident information as per HIPAA and corporate guidelines.

  • Supervises, directs and/or provides resident care when assigned.

  • Establishes personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons as a representative of the facility.

  • Provides support to patients, friends, and families.

  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.

  • Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.

  • Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.

RN Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have an active / unrestricted NYS Registered Nurse License

  • Should have excellent clinical assessment skills

  • Ability to make good independent decisions

  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Long-Term Care Experience Preferred but not required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
