Put your nursing expertise to work making an impact in a supportive educational environment as an LPN/LVN supporting medically fragile students. In this contract position, you'll deliver essential health services for students ages 4-22, working part-time during ESY (Extended School Year) hours, with a weekly schedule of 18.5 to 22.5 hours. This is a dynamic, itinerant role, rotating between students and campuses to ensure high-quality, consistent care.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active LPN or LVN license in California
- Experience caring for students with significant medical needs, including:
- Seizure management
- Gastronomy and bladder care (catheterization)
- Diabetes/insulin care, including CGM and carb counting
- Administration of medication (EpiPen, Benadryl, etc.)
- Comfort managing hypo- and hyperglycemia
- Familiarity with ASD and developmental delays
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for family and staff connection
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus (not required)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review all student seizure and health care plans regularly
- Provide staff training on individualized procedures and emergency response
- Build rapport with students and families to support ongoing care
- Remain on-call for urgent health needs throughout the school day
- Deliver direct care in both classroom and itinerant settings
