The Wound Care Registered Nurse cares for a sub-specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. Responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization. Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned. Promotes evidence-based clinical care that exemplifies the pursuit of clinical excellence.

This role is responsible for assessing patient health needs, supporting medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and ensuring compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive health assessments for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nursing care plans Administer medications, including those related to MAT programs, and monitor effectiveness and side effects Provide education to patients and families on addiction, recovery, medication adherence, and overall health management Collaborate with counselors, case managers, providers, and other team members to ensure coordinated care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in EHR systems Provide supervision and oversight of Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and program regulations, including SUD treatment standards Support infection control, safety protocols, and quality assurance initiatives . Qualifications & RequirementsLicensure & Certifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia (required) AMAP Certification and approval to oversee AMAP (required) Must be approved by OHFLAC to supervise AMAP BLS/CPR certification (required) Experience Experience working with substance use disorders (SUD) and/or co-occurring mental health conditions preferred Experience in outpatient, IOP, or MAT settings strongly preferred Experience in community-based or behavioral health-adjacent settings is a plus Skills & Competencies Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Knowledge of addiction medicine, withdrawal management, and recovery principles Familiarity with MAT protocols (e.g., Suboxone, Methadone, Vivitrol) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar) Additional Requirements Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites as needed Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends Must pass background check and pre-employment screening.
