Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures. The DON works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of resident care and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily nursing operations and clinical services

  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote excellence in resident care

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Monitor quality measures and implement performance improvement initiatives

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor resources

  • Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, residents, and families

  • Support infection prevention and clinical risk management programs

  • Participate in survey preparedness and regulatory compliance activities

  • Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care

Qualifications

  • Current Ohio RN License required

  • Previous long-term care leadership experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to quality care and employee engagement
