Registered Nurse- Pediatric ICU (Nights)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) healthcare team. This is a 24-hour direct patient care unit with 6 private patient rooms. Patients admitted to the PICU are likely to be those with acute medical disease states. Our patients range in age from newborn to 19 years of age. We primarily care for patients with respiratory distress/respiratory failure, sepsis, status asthmaticus, DKA, status epilepticus, and post op Neurosurgery or other post-operative patients requiring ICU care. This includes patients with invasive monitoring (arterial lines, ICP monitoring, EVD monitoring), surgical drains/chest tubes, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, tracheostomies with vent support, vasopressor requirement (epinephrine, dopamine, vasopressin), and/or continuous sedation requirement (versed, fentanyl, precedex etc). This is a supportive close-knit team where the patients and their families are the center of our care. Schedule: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM/36 hours per week Every third weekend rotation MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Utilizes the nursing process to complete the admission physical, cognitive, spiritual, psychosocial, and functional patient assessment. Develops and implements a plan of care (including goals) that is reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis. Develops, reviews, and implements the discharge plan upon admission, and throughout the patient stay.
