Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatment planning, and administering medications. Monitor and document patient progress and respond to changes in condition.

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.

  • Effectively communicate with residents, families, and healthcare team members to address concerns and provide updates on patient status.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.

  • Mentor and guide nursing staff, including LPNs and CNAs, ensuring adherence to care protocols and facility procedures.

  • Ensure all nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations, including infection control, safety protocols, and resident rights.

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies, utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment to stabilize and manage acute situations.

  • Participate in weekend, night, and holiday calls on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.

  • Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Columbus.

  • Experience: 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred, but not required.

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
