About the Unit

Bariatrics has a comprehensive team that includes five skilled surgeons, three bariatricians, twelve advanced practice providers (APPs), two psychologists, and four dietitians. Our team supports ten practice locations, providing both medical and surgical weight loss options. We take immense pride in the strong relationships we build with our patients, their families, and our colleagues, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment. We follow our surgical patients for life, seeing them on an annual basis.

Our support staff is composed of registered nurses (RNs), medical assistants/ACTs, and patient service representatives (PSRs). Each member of the team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practices and the delivery of high-quality care.

Medical Assistants/ACTs assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, chart preparation, and managing in-basket messages, medication refills and prior authorizations. Candidates for this position should be adaptable, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and providing high-quality patient care

Medical Assistant Urgent Care Resource

Corewell Health Hastings, MI

This position requires at a minimum two 8 hour shifts every 6 weeks. There is potential to work up to part time hours when needed, and available. Please note that you would need to be able to train at a minimum of part time hours for the initial 4-8 weeks. Practice Overview Provide care to community members for walk-in and non-emergent appointments. We service all ages, and our scope of treatment has a wide range based on patient need. MAs can expect to room patients, administer medications, assist with treatments, wound care, ortho care, point of care testing, vaccine administration, order supplies, run audits, and more. This office has a busy but relaxed atmosphere. The team is small and works very close with one another. There are two to three MAs on staff daily depending on provider staffing and expected volumes.
