School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Salem, New Hampshire

Step into a rewarding role serving middle school students as a dedicated registered nurse for the upcoming academic year. This full-time contract position is ideal for nursing professionals passionate about adolescent health and eager to make a meaningful difference in an onsite, school-based setting.

You'll provide expert care and support to students at the middle school level, working Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, from August 24, 2026, through June 17, 2027. Collaborate with educators and families to promote wellness, manage chronic and acute health conditions, and help foster a healthy, inclusive environment where students can thrive.

Qualifications:

  • Current NH Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Certification as a school nurse through the Department of Education
  • Experience working in a school setting or with adolescent populations preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration
  • Successful completion of district-required fingerprinting
  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills
  • Comfortable using technology to document care and communicate (including Zoom for interviews)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency response to students and staff
  • Manage daily health office operations, including administering medication and monitoring chronic conditions
  • Act as a liaison between healthcare providers, families, and school personnel
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Educate students and staff on health-related topics, illness prevention, and wellness promotion
