Job Description

As a Nurse Extern, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Performs specific tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. 

  • Demonstrates accountability for assigned patients on shift or assignment. 

  • Seeks out learning opportunities and guidance from appropriate individuals. 

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern will carry out routine patient care assignments, work in controlled care situations, and perform established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients.  

Qualifications include: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Nursing 

  • Completed at least one (1) semester of medical surgical clinical rotation 

  • CPR certified in Pennsylvania

Essential Functions Participates in the delivery of patient care for population groups under the direction of an RN/LPN including but not limited to the following: - Lifting, turning, and positioning patients utilizing Safe Patient Handling equipment (> 35 pounds), as appropriate. - AM/PM Hygiene care - Activities of daily living (ex.
