JOB TITLE: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide primary or specialty care as per the collaborative agreement/protocol on file in the clinic and according to the policies and procedures of the Clinic
  • Practice within the scope of practice as delineated by the practitioner’s education and experience
  • Comply with all appropriate requirements for clinic quality assurance and certification
  • Maintain license and board certification
  • Update Collaborative agreement yearly or as required
  • Must have clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Shall assist the Medical Director is development of new policies and procedures as needed
  • In consultations with the Physician, shall make necessary referrals and/or consultations that cannot be provided at the clinic
  • Shall assist in maintaining accurate and complete patient records

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program leading to a Masters Degree and/or meets the Advanced Nursing Practice requirements set forth by the Georgia State Board of Nursing or the Georgia Composite Medical Licensure Board.  OR Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current active Georgia license.  

Must possess appropriate certification and degree from a United States Institution of Higher Education.  Must be licensed to practice medicine in the States of Georgia prior to beginning employment.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

                At least two years’ experience in a clinic setting preferred

                Experience as a surgical first assist may be required depending on specialty  

                Current CPR certificate

                For NPs current Georgia RN license and approval to practice as Nurse Practitioner

                For PAs current Georgia license and approval to practice as a Physician Assistant

                Computer literacy and proficient with EHR required

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work collaboratively with fellow APPs, orthopedic residents, and faculty surgeons within the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.
